If you want to darken the background of Excel -
> Click the Page Layout tab from the ribbon at the top of the screen.
> Select the background option.
> Now when the Insert Pictures dialog box appears, click on the search bin search box.
> Then type Solid Gray or Solid Black, press Enter and select the photo of your choice from the search results and click Insert. To change the color of the text to match the color of the screen, press the CTRL and A keys on the keyboard together, select the entire spreadsheet, and click the Home tab from the top ribbon. Here you have to select white color from the Font color (A icon) from the Font section.
If you do not want to see the image in the background, then click on the page layout tab from the ribbon again. If any background is specified in advance, the Delete Background option can be seen. Clicking here will delete the spreadsheet background.
